Ready to attach! Decided to paint these pieces instead of using dye. Will be glued to the mask when the paint is all dry.
Next piece cut and ready to paint. Cut the end off using the same sized circle as the existing decal so it would mesh more cleanly.

First piece of the mask upgrades is a decal on leather for the forehead. Was going to cut it directly into the mask but it was too tall for the cutter. Leather it is.
Interesting. These aluminum plaques came with a plastic coating one side. The side without the plastic has a gold tint, but the side with the plastic is more silver.
It’s odd that my test crosshairs came out slightly different colors. I’m thinking multiple passes (which is what the numbers mean on the silver side) might clean up that gold tint. It just wasn’t an issue on the other side.
I had alignment issues with this. So I’m thinking I should drop a piece of wood in, laser out a hole, and then drop the metal into it.
It’s not *exactly* what I want, but it’s close. It’s real close.
I’m satisfied with size and the layout of the flight data recorder manufacturer plaque as well.
I think this is good enough.

Me gusta escuchar el programa de #LaSER "un libro, una hora" en formato pódcast. Cómo su nombre indica, resumen el contenido de un libro en una hora. Hoy he salido a correr y he estado escuchando "La vuelta al mundo en ochenta días" de Julio Verne. Y me he pasado la hora completa odiando al protagonista. Un ricachón impasible que lo único que quiere es demostrar que tiene razón. Y que como es rico se cree que puede ir comprando, sobornando y convenciendo a la gente a base de dinero: que si me compro un elefante, que si me compro un barco, que si ahora quemo el barco porque lo he comprado. 1872 y los ricos dando el mismo asco.
