However I just saw something about how dog training is abusive because it’s “ABA for dogs” and traumatises them the same way?
I’d appreciate some genuine discussion; I find it helpful to get multiple perspectives on things
@Gianttardigayde I think that idea is pretty silly from a practical point of view. Teaching a dog not to run into traffic, or not to bite/jump on small children, isn't inherently abusive. The methods of 'training' can be abusive, but that's an important distinction from the goal of training/teaching.
Also, almost every child in the world is 'trained' to prevent them hurting themselves or others, the idea that positive/negative reinforcement is inherently abusive is just... impossible.
