Dear USPS,

What the actual fuck? Why is everything shipped from the US marked as delivered to Glendale Heights? I don't give a flying freep in a rolling donut about how your internal routing works. I just want to know roughly when the package will be at my COMMUNIST EUROPEAN doorstep.

Are you cheating yourself about delivery times by claiming Glendale Heights is where Europe is? Is this a result of a byzantine COBOL system?

I care not. Fix your shit.

What the fuck.

Ordered from North Carolina (9hr drive, 1hr15min flight). It came to a facility within 30miles of my doorstep.

Then it went to Puerto Rico (3h45min direct flight, or a 12hr drive to Key West + 16hrs underwater drive to San Juan/Catano).

#MailDelivery

#Musk is going to have First Class Parcel Post (if not all mail) taken over by #Amazon and #JeffBezos

OK: don't know about urban ZIP codes, but in the rural (10K residents) ZIP code I live in, the #USPS is already doing last mile delivery for #AmazonPrime

An Amazon truck drops off Amazon Prime parcels at the PO back door and the parcels are carted inside and sorted into delivery routes carried out by USPS drivers

Big problem is, most USPS drivers will not leave their trucks to deliver to front doors - all Prime parcels are dropped atop the street-side mail box stands

But I don't have street mail delivery so I have to get into my car, drive to the Post Office, park, wait in line to get up to the counter, only to be handed a Prime order that UPS would have dropped on my doormat two days earlier

Wow.

Ten voting House Republicans have now signed on to a resolution that says Congress "should take all appropriate measures" to make sure USPS remains an independent government agency and "not subject to privatization,” including Reps. Sam Graves and Thomas Kean

I’m stunned Kean signed on to this. He’s a total trump stooge but this is good news.

The pandemic showed the #USPS is critical to this country

@FrChazzz I’m tempted to leave #Reddit but I’m really fond of the #Episcopal subreddit (and a few others) Also, honestly, just by its nature the internet & social media are insecure (not a typo) & have been compromised from the beginning. The problem is that bad actors will always exploit information & use it against those they perceive as enemies faster & more efficiently than the general population. How long before they come for any platform including the #Fediverse #Mastodon #Bluesky I mean, they are even going after the #USPS & #mail so going off-grid & offline doesn’t help.

The goal in privatizing the USPS is to make sending regular mail unaffordable to the point most communication occurs online, not in real life.

While the public recognizes mail is a service to the public that is not supposed to be for profiteering, the cheeto admin doesn't care that the costs of online services to the poor & elderly are far in excess of sending & receiving mail.

They just want to skim off as much as they can from people.

Pretty sure the #USPS packages would not all arrrive a day later than they promised if they stopped the folks in Oakland from sending packages on unnecessary tours of the SF Bay Area. Why did my package need to go to San Francisco, before returning to Alameda (which, for those unaware, is right next to Oakland on the east side of the bay)?

A newly released memo from the banking giant Wells Fargo outlines a predatory scheme to dismantle the USPS: sell off profitable parts, slash union jobs, and raise prices by up to 140 percent..#USPS..
