What is Direct Action according to the IWW?

"Direct action is any form of activity that cripples the boss’ ability to make a profit and makes him/her cave in to the workers’ demands. The best known form of direct action is the strike, in which workers simply walk off their jobs and refuse to produce profits for the boss until they get what they want. This is the preferred tactic of the TUC “business unions,” but is actually one of the least effective ways of confronting the boss."

The boss and management, strutting onto the shopfloor,
ready to serve up the same old lines:
"No pay raises, but hey—pizza on Friday!"
Because nothing says “appreciation” like a slice of cold pizza after a long week of hard work.

But we see through it.
While they throw us crumbs, their profits soar.
They call this a “team,” a “family.” Funny how the family never shares the wealth.

We deserve real rewards—not leftovers.
It’s time to demand wages, respect, and dignity—not pizza parties.

Oh, we’re one big family!
Look, here comes the boss with management in tow,
waltzing onto the shopfloor like royalty visiting the peasants.
They’ve got the nerve to tell us:
“There’s no raise this year, but hey, pizza for everyone on Friday!”

Pizza Fridays are just the appetizer.
While Management doles out cheesy smiles and slices,
our wallets remain on a diet.
They say, “We’re all in this together,”
but actions speak louder than toppings.

Union Proud
We deserve more than a fleeting feast.
Stand strong, demand fair wages, and serve up real change!
