One thing for sure, here in Bonaire folks do not like masks.
My partner and I mask 100% of the time we share air with anyone else. Out here, that amounts to just the grocery store, but folks always at least act like they can’t hear us, and sometimes the vibe is downright hostile. I think we are the only two people on this whole island who are masking.
I did try to talk to some folks I met to see if I could at least understand what the deal is. Seems to be about a connection on the level of vibes with having been made to do stuff by the government previously.
Oh well. I’m not going to be getting in anyone’s face about it, but I’ll still be masking.

@jonahgibberish yeah, except this is a small island not in the US. They say only 12 people died of COVID here. I don’t believe it, but I’m also not here to argue with the people who live here. I’ll do that where I live
