Trump supporter attempts to RAM Tesla protesters at W Palm Beach, FL showroom (EDIT W Palm Beach not Palm Beach)

On the 22nd of March, TeslaTakedown activists deployed to showrooms all over the US for another round of protests aimed at starving out Elon Musk. One of these protests was in West Palm Beach, FL.

During the protest, Trump supporter Andrew Dutl attempted to ram down protesters, jumping his black SUV onto the sidewalk as the protesters were not in the street. He missed all of them as everyone including elders sucessfully jumped or scrambled to safety. He then stopped his car and got out.

Someone called the cops. When Dutil heard the sirens he got back in his SUV and fled but it was too late. Police cruisers quickly chased him down and persuaded or forced him to stop. He was arrested and a booking photo identified him. A social media search on his name identified him as a member of a pro-Trump group and also a Veteran. Many progressive and middle of the road vets are furious about this, especially given that Musk and DOGE are after their VA benefits. Someone yelled "traitor!" as he got back in his SUV and attempted to flee before being chased down.

It is also being reported tjhat Andrew Dutil's current job (until he gets fired that is) is working at the same Tesla showroom!

Video starts just after the failed attempt at a DAESH/ISIS style car attack, with Dutil's SUV on the sidewalk

@LukefromDC another reason to reinstate the draft. For men and women.

@jonathankoren @orrickle @LukefromDC Not only is Florida a concealed carry w/o a permit State but they also have a law:

“a person is justified in using or threatening to use deadly force if he or she reasonably believes that using or threatening to use such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony.”

Shooting a driver who attempts to ram you or other pedestrians with their car is perfectly legal according to FL state law, imo.

@JizzelEtBass @jonathankoren @orrickle You can't shoot and score a hit without having your gun up in time. This requires a dedicated security team watching for all possible attacks.

Note that hitting the car is NOT an effective shot. At close range tire and radiator shots don't stop a car either, and most pistol rounds don't penetrate car engines. The only part of the driver's body that is not shielded by the engine is the head, and angled car windshield glass is known for sending bullets off-course even after they penetrate it. Even if they hit both car and driver with effective shots, the car may have enough momentum to plow into the crowd with both the engine and the driver dead. It's rather like WWII air defense against Kamikaze attacks on ships.

In Rojava, stopping vehicle-mounted suicide bombs (VBIED's) sent by Daesh/ISIS often required using .50 caliber machine guns or (probably more effective due to exploding shells acting as detonators) 20mm autocannon to predetonate the bomb itself at a safe distance. Hitting the truck wasn't enough.
