Snack not finished.

Popping begun.

Last night we fed people outside City Hall because the City would prefer to spend money on cops instead of care.

Today the City is driving that point home with their budget.

Part two of last night's action saw this speech get read to Councillors:

Hello City Councillor.

We have been instructed by the unhoused and poor community of the city of Toronto, that you have broken the rules and expectations that you represent ALL of your constituents while holding this office. You have badly neglected, maintained an aggressive ignorance towards, and thus harmed the most vulnerablized members of the city of Toronto. Because of your lack of attention to our situation, you have caused homelessness and homeless death. And therefore we are forced to evict you from this place of political power.

In order for you to overcome your attitudinal barriers to serving the people equally, we are coercing you into the shelter system where you can see what you have done.

Here are 2 plastic bags for all of your belongings. You have 20 minutes to gather your stuff and leave the premises. Here is a TTC ticket and a map to 129 Peter St. where you can try to access central intake.

Good luck getting a shelter bed because you have for decades failed to create enough decent shelter spaces for those who are on the street.... [say what you want here - rant away] Here are some hand warmers since the temperature isn't cold enough for you people to grant us the opening of a warming centre.

If you are not gone within 20 minutes we will have to call the police and charge you with trespassing.

Doing lots of media.
Let's see what of this runs.

PRESS RELEASE
FEB 11, 2025
NEW PROPOSAL TO ADDRESS POLITICAL INCOMPETENCE TOWARDS UNHOUSED AND POOR CONSTITUENTS

Today, individuals with lived expertise and allied frontline organizations working on the frontlines have taken the floor of city council on the eve of passing what is another budget that increases police spending while failing to realistically address.

While Street Health has released the homeless deaths count for 2024, a figure that is double what was previously thought, City Hall journalist Matt Elliot has reported that the city has failed to spend even half the budget alotted to housing and homelessness. This is a scandal.

This state of affairs demonstrates a Political Emergency of ill will by the City of Toronto towards poor and unhoused constituents.

We are here today because we the people are committed to a politician-first approach to helping Toronto’s elected representatives meaningfully connect with their unhoused and poor constituents. Our outreach efforts at City Hall are focussed on engaging with individual politicians to build relationships and lower attitudinal barriers to help them politicians
understand the hardships faced by their unhoused constituents at the hands of city officials.

We understand that our politicians are a symptom of a this brutal capitalist system in its neoliberal phase. We hope to support our politicians and enable them to move beyond pandering to powerful developers and lobbyists and appeasing the cops who have our city in
a chokehold, and to begin introducing legislation that reflects at least a minimal degree of concern for the wellbeing of the ALL people of Toronto, including our unhoused and poor
neighbours experiencing the worst civic neglect.

We are hoping to expand our outreach model to reach politicians in harder to find and less accessible locations, like their mansions, their local taverns, or their social clubs in order to
convince them that we have their best interest at heart when we force them to confront the wrongs that they perpetrate. In this light we are urging members of the public who may have information about the locations and daily routines of Toronto politicians who may be in
need of help to please submit a report to the office of politician accountability.

The people of Toronto dont want hypocritical, lying, gaslighting, callous and ignorant politicians in community who support run away development and gentrification in their communities. That is why we are proposing that they be coerced forced into the carceral
shelters and TCHC housing that they have created. We propose that they be given an amount equal to Ontario Works to live on. While this may seem harsh, we believe it is what is best for them in order for them to really come in from the cold hearted city they have made.

Celebrating 2 days of excellent work with the crew.
