Seems like a long time ago.

That was the month I started university.

At the end of the year, I took a 1 week summer course in FORTRAN and wrote my first lines of code.

But then, I took a 10 year break before forgiving the machine for its rude error messages and starting a computing career.

"Student Eric Lawton does not exist", indeed!
