Israeli forces briefly detained Italian activist Luisa Morgantini, former Vice President of the European Parliament, and journalist Roberto Bongiorni in Tuba, near #Hebron in the occupied West Bank, for allegedly entering a "military zone." Morgantini, a prominent figure in the Italian peace movement and co-founder of Women in Black Italy, was in the in the context of her peace activism.
They were taken to a police station in the Kiryat Arba settlement but were released shortly after due to intervention by the Italian embassy and consulate.
