This despite the fact that, according to the Labor Court, there are no labor law obstacles to the Port Workers' Union's blockade being carried out in accordance with the notice.

The purpose of setting a deterrent example with Erik Helgeson is twofold.
In part, they want to criminalize international solidarity in the port in practice. Taking a public stance against the genocide that Israel commits against the Palestinians in Gaza counts as a violation of the Security Protection Act and disloyalty linked to the Security Protection Act.
On the one hand, the employer wants to use the nationalist right-wing and the militarization of society to get rid of a combative union leader. Cloudy reasons such as "national security" short-circuit the right to work and make all trade union representatives/protection representatives who work on "protected objects" lawless.
