The audio was utterly gripping to me. I think WWII is a common setting in historical fiction but this book focusing on the Olympics and the lead up was refreshing. 
The ending was kind of weird. I can’t say much without spoilers but it just kinda lingered

Beyond The Doors
Volume 1 finished - I loved the anime and have been wanting to read the manga for ages! Only got the Dragon Ball box set at the moment but once I've finished them I'll get the Dragon Ball Z set too 
“All may be fair in love and war, but this is ornithology.” This author is an insta-buy-and-read for me. Holton must love gag anime because that’s how this book reads; I’m just so smitten with all her works!

Starting this #GraphicNovel - Sacco is quite brilliant in the writing field of #comics #journalism.
Not all #nonfiction books are bland & boring. His books are really interesting & blend factual text with comic #illustrations.
This was a super twisty thriller. The formatting counting down to the FMC birthday increased my anxiety SO MUCH. Every time something bad happened, I kept wondering how things could get worse and they did The book had a classic Sarah Pinborough twist (if you have read Behind Her Eyes or seen the Netflix show then you know what I’m talking about)
SUPER brutal cat and mouse thriller involving a serial killer and a medical examiner. I loved the reveal at about 70%. I appreciated the Hannibal references bc this book made me think of Silence of the Lambs The book was pretty short, (on audio it was only about six hours) so I finished in a day.

“I care nothing for my life if she is not in it.” A satisfying conclusion to the duet. There were some cheesy parts, but overall I enjoyed it. I probably won’t continue in the universe anytime soon, just bc the tbr is ever growing 
MAJOR WWZ vibes, except more traumatic bc it’s a 2025 pandemic and the story is told in first person POV as the pandemic progresses. The wide range of human experience from incel conspiracy theorist, to grieving widow and mother, to the scientists trying to find a cure were done very well. The exploration of grief was a big theme as there were some truly heartbreaking parts. There were some happy parts too and I felt finding that balance was important. This thriller was BONKERS. Unreliable narrator at its finest. I enjoyed the bits of the finished documentary interspersed in the story as the book progressed. I can’t really say much else bc of spoilers but I binged this in a day!️Vanilla Iced Coffee
