An Iranian filmmaker who has been documenting the life of a woman in Gaza for her film that has been accepted for the Cannes Film Festival has told FRANCE 24 how she continues to send her messages, even though she knows she was killed in an Israeli air strike.

Sepideh Farsi had been following the life of Fatma Hassona, but a week and a half ago, the day after they heard the film had been selected for Cannes, Hassona was killed.

A government source said on Thursday that the Spanish government has unilaterally canceled a deal to purchase ammunition for the Interior Ministry from an Israeli company.

Israel killed another Palestinian journalist on Wednesday night in an air strike on the city of Deir Al-Balah in the Gaza Strip.

Al-Aqsa Radio journalist Saeed Abu Hassanein was killed along with his wife and daughter when their tent was bombed by Israel. Their funeral took place this morning at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

At least 210 Palestinian journalists have been killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since October 2023.

An Israeli airstrike has forced a children’s hospital out of service in the Gaza Strip as Tel Aviv continued its genocidal war on the Palestinian enclave, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

The ministry said an Israeli missile hit the hospital’s upper building, damaging the intensive care unit and destroying the solar panel system that feeds the facility with power.

37 hospitals have now been rendered inoperational since October 2023.
