Dhyan Nada :vegananarchism:<p>"If American democracy can survive ten years of Greta Thunberg's scolding you guys can survive a few months of Elon Musk."</p><p>Now the far-right <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/AfD" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AfD</span></a> is not only explicitly supported by <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/ElonMusk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ElonMusk</span></a> who demanded German citizens to "save Germany" by voting for this neofascist party <br />but <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/JDVance" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JDVance</span></a> implicitly endorsed to vote for AfD in a speech in which he attacked EU-governments to censor the clientele of rightwing parties by suppressing free speech.</p><p>As his appearance at the Munich Security Conference is mandated by his boss Donald <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Trump" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Trump</span></a> who himself has no problem with coming down hard on "fake news" and nonconforming voices who he openly threatens with state repression, <br />who enforces a policy to defund and dismantle democratic institutions of all kind critical to his rule <br /><a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Vance" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Vance</span></a>'s plea for liberty and democracy could not really convince. </p><p>Considering the examples he presented to prove his case of antidemocratic practices in the <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/EU" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>EU</span></a> <br />the whole speech amounted to a call for German voters to help the AfD at the ballots to reach an even higher share of the popular vote than already surveyed.</p><p>To compare the activist <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/GretaThunberg" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>GretaThunberg</span></a> with the <br />Tech-billionaire and leading Trump henchman for obstructing and privatizing democratically installed administrative structures one on one <br />shows the whole asymmetry of power relations the new <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/fascism" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>fascism</span></a> relies on. And of course it were only five years if one can compare these highly different levels of political reach at all.</p><p>With this public adress of the US Vice President it's finally official - <br />German democracy now is under the influence of a foreign government that meddles into the affairs of the German electorate with its own partisanship for far-right ideology. My whole life, I've come close to being arrested, but never have been. The fact that I have <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Claustrophobia" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Claustrophobia</span></a> and <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/PTSD" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PTSD</span></a> (from being locked in a closet by a Nun) means that I probably would not do well incarcerated. Or at least I'd have to mask for what would seem like an eternity. I honestly don't know how <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/GretaThunberg" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>GretaThunberg</span></a> could tolerate incarceration, but the fact that she has, and is still very VOCAL, means she is a total <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/BadAss" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BadAss</span></a> who is my HERO!</p>

Because it is."</p><p>Meanwhile the elites which she confronted with the imminence of <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/climatecatastrophe" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>climatecatastrophe</span></a> by setting their roof on fire <br />have decided not to extinguish but to fan the flames with carbon-intensive wars, the destruction of natural environments by extractivism, the pushing of capital productivity by fossilism and indulging in consumerism laying waste to remaining natural habitats. </p><p>Greta stood by her principles, didn't fall for the comfortable role of a fig leaf for ineffective climate policies and now supports people oppressed and exploited by <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/colonialism" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>colonialism</span></a> and <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/capitalism" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>capitalism</span></a>. Globally, many climate organizations chose to speak out and take direct action to call for a cease-fire in Gaza.</p><p>"But none of these climate activists had stopped caring about the climate. As climate change makes many areas around the world uninhabitable, climate refugees have no choice but to leave their home.</p><p>In response to Trump’s election, climate organizers Jeff Ordower and Ahmed Gaya called on their fellow activists to bring their experiences of shutting down pipelines and coal plants to fight the incarceration and deportation we can expect under Trump. In all my years of activism and mischief-making, I've managed to avoid that. TBH, jail is like my worst nightmare (because I was traumatized not once, but twice at a young age, by being locked in a closet -- a tale for another day). I always need to have an "escape route" where-ever I am. And that's why I showed the <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/ClamshellAlliance" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ClamshellAlliance</span></a> the secret path to the nuclear plant site (I knew it from when I clammed with my family), but did NOT go with them during the occupation. I mean, I was 14 years old and my grandmother (see my other posts) would have KILLED ME! (And she moved Heaven and Earth for me, so I didn't want to betray her trust). But yeah. Kudos to Greta! Imo wäre es an der Zeit, den an die Adresse Israels gerichteten und inzwischen auch von AI international bestätigten Vorwurf des Genozids und Siedlerkolonialismus ernst zu nehmen, anstatt unisono mit rechten Demagog:innen ins gleiche Horn der Apologie dieser menschenfeindlichen Politik zu stoßen.
