Hello #Blind and #VisuallyImpaired community!
I'm having trouble signing PDF documents with a digital certificate using my #screenreader (NVDA on Windows). I can do it in Adobe Reader but it's quite cumbersome and requires sighted assistance.
Does anyone have a more accessible workflow or software recommendation for signing PDFs with a digital certificate using the keyboard and a screen reader? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Could you please #Boost this so it reaches more people? Thank you in advance! #Accessibility #NVDA #PDF #DigitalSignature #AssistiveTechnology @NVAccess
Had someone on one of my tours today who is part of a 7 a side team with a blind player
Their team name is Braille Madrid
Hey, folks who use screenreaders. I often use asterisks and parentheses in my writing, because the structure forms as I write. I've just realized that may make my stuff less accessible for you.
Is there a different way for me to add short snippets of clarifying text that's more accessible?
Thanks!

From the article: "New technology — and its rapid adoption for remote work during COVID-19 — continues to break down many barriers for people with disabilities. There are more ways than ever for workplaces to ensure accessibility, often at little to no cost. For example, voice recognition expands communication options for those who face challenges with traditional keyboards. And auto-captioning ensures that people who are deaf or experiencing hearing loss can fully engage with multimedia content."

As it is the start of the month I shall do some shameless promoting of https://ourblind.com/ for all the #blind, #deafblind, #lowvision, and #visuallyimpaired people around. @mastoblind
@brennx0r reposted with more descriptive #ALTtxt for #Blind and #VisuallyImpaired users. #ALT4you
And yeah, one more thing - let's all get into the habit of using #ALT with our #photos and #video. My friend @oedipusnj started a pair of hashtags on #Twitter - #ALT4me and #ALT4you. Together, they're a form of mutual aid for the #Blind and #VisuallyImpaired community who otherwise can get left out of the rich visual communications that happens online.
Those hashtags were met with some support on Twitter but also with much indifference and, inexplicably, anger. Reception here on #Mastodon has been much better.
As a #photographer and visual person, I have not always been good about using #ALT. And I still struggle, particularly with #video. But I'll continue to work on it and I encourage you all to do the same.

"…it's not an exception, but an accommodation."
The general rule? You cannot touch the Liberty Bell. David Brown, a blind man from California, was allowed to do just that at the offering of a Park Ranger.
Did you ever wonder how multiple emojis are experienced by a visually impaired person using a screenreader?

PD: Blind people do exist and use Mastodon. Your effort to put some Image description/ALT text on your media is appreciated!
