Jason Baluyut<p>Birders, can you help me identify this one? This lovely visitor perched right outside my window here in Brooklyn and I could only get these few iPhone shots. Black body, yellow beak, long fanned tail. Can ruffle itself up (2nd photo) and had a screechy call. I’m a newbie at bird ID - I can tell a cardinal from a blue jay, but a lot of the nuances of these kinds of black birds still escape me. 🙏 </p><p><a href="https://ohai.social/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a> <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/birds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>birds</span></a> <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/birdphotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>birdphotography</span></a> <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/urbanphotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>urbanphotography</span></a> <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/urbanwildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>urbanwildlife</span></a> <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/monochrome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>monochrome</span></a> <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/blackandwhite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>blackandwhite</span></a></p>
