Weltschmerz à GogoThe "artist" responsible for much of Atomwaffen Division's propaganda has been found guilty in Canada and may be in prison for a very long time:===Patrick Gordon Macdonald, better known by his pseudonym Dark Foreigner, has been found guilty for participating in the activity of a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity, and the commission of offence for a terrorist group.The verdict was handed down by Justice R Smith in an Ottawa courtroom as Macdonald had elected to have a judge make the ruling rather than a jury. Smith found that the videos had two purposes: to “recruit new members” and to “promote” the Atomwaffen Division. The Crown requested that Macdonald be held without bail, while Macdonald’s defence indicated they expected the sentencing to be quite long, pointing that their client has been on bail for the duration of the trial. Justice Smith ruled that Macdonald could remain out of custody until a bail hearing could be held. Macdonald was previously released on bail after being arrested in July 2023. He entered a plea of not guilty before the court. It has arguably emerged as one of the most popular and influential texts on the global white supremacist movement alongside William Luther Pierce’s 'The Turner Diaries' and Adolf Hitler’s 'Mein Kampf'. In the mid-2010s, a range of white nationalist and neo-Nazi groups with ties to acts of real-world violence, such as Atomwaffen Division and The Base, embraced the book to justify their terroristic worldview and distance themselves from other wings of the movement that embraced more traditional political action. More recently, a mass shooter who murdered three Black people in Jacksonville, Florida, in summer 2023, cited Siege in a screed explaining his motivations for the attack.FHU’s ownership of Black Sun, as well as the correspondence between Johnson, Schuster and Mason, shows how seemingly divergent wings of the radical right can find grounds for cooperation. MikeDunnAuthorToday in Labor History December 25, 1831: The Great Jamaican Slave Revolt, the largest slave uprising in the British West Indies, began on this date. Samuel Sharpe, a black Baptist deacon, led the revolt of 60,000 enslaved people. The 11-day uprising began as a General Strike, but quickly turned violent. 14 whites and 207 enslaved black people died in the siege. However, another 340 rebels were executed afterward. The rebels had been inspired by the abolitionist movement in London and had intended to call for a peaceful uprising.
