Here are 2019 #KilmarAbregoGarcia rulings:

The first Immigration Judge's ruling that #KilmarAbregoGarcia posed a risk, which #PamBondi falsely claimed amounted to a ruling he's a MS13 terrorist:

“That’s not up to us. If they want to return him, we would facilitate it, meaning provide a plane,” #PamBondi continued. #Bukele, for his part, called #KilmarAbregoGarcia a “terrorist,” saying to a reporter who asked if he would return him, “I hope you’re not suggesting that I smuggle a terrorist into the United States.” He added, “The question is preposterous.”

The bad faith of this exchange is obvious.

During an on-camera Oval Office meeting wit Salvadoran President Nayib #Bukele, whom the #Trump administration has paid to imprison immigrants deported from the #UnitedStates it claims without evidence are gang members, President Donald Trump deferred to Attorney General #PamBondi, who said the decision was Bukele’s.

“That’s up to El Salvador if they want to return him. That’s not up to us,” Bondi told reporters.

#Trump AG #PamBondi was just very misleading saying that 2 judges had “ruled” that #KilmarAbregoGarcia was a member of the Salvadoran gang MS-13. Abrego Garcia has never been charged with—& certainly not convicted of—being a member of the gang. There was evidence introduced during a deportation proceeding in 2019 that said he belonged to MS-13, & judges decided it was enough to keep him in custody while the matter was resolved. In the end, however, the evidence was found unconvincing.

#Trump crosses the Rubicon on ordering investigations of foes

Trump is now expressly ordering investigations of his foes — even criminal ones. That’s something Trump’s AG, #PamBondi, downplayed as a possibility at her confirmation hearing. (When asked what role the White House would play in investigation & prosecution decisions, Bondi responded: “It is the Department of Justice’s decision.”)

The #Trump administration’s demand for loyalty, as well as its removal of prosecutors & #FBI officials deemed not supportive of the president’s agenda, goes against that tradition, outside analysts said. So too does #Trump’s directive that #PamBondi “seek sanctions” against attorneys & law firms that the administration believes are engaging in “frivolous, unreasonable & vexatious litigation against *the United States* [trump].”

The people planning to leave the #SolicitorGeneral’s office have various reasons, according to several people close to the workforce who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss upcoming personnel changes.

Many are uncomfortable or turned off by directives from #DOJ leaders, including AG #PamBondi’s demand for “zealous advocacy” of #Trump’s agenda, these people said.

The Gender Police -- Targeting Maine yet again!

: cut funding for corrections department over inmate

by Brooke Migdon - 04/08/25 4:51 PM ET

"The Justice Department revoked funding for the Maine Department of Corrections over the state’s placement of a transgender woman in a women’s prison, Attorney General Pam Bondi said Tuesday.

"Bondi made the announcement during an interview with Fox News, saying the department pulled all 'nonessential' funding from the state corrections department on Monday after federal officials learned 'a guy' was serving time in one of the state’s two women’s facilities. Bondi said the inmate was convicted of murder.

"The loss in funding for the department totaled upward of $1.5 million, according to Fox News. The Justice Department did not return a request for comment.

"In a news release, Maine’s corrections department said it received formal notice from the Department of Justice on Monday that certain federal grants 'are being terminated because they ‘no longer effectuate the program goals or agency priorities.' The cuts will impact state-run initiatives related to and support for with incarcerated parents, the corrections department said.

"The notice from the Justice Department, a copy of which was obtained by The Hill, does not mention transgender inmates. 'While the Department is aware of related public statements by the United States Attorney General, the notice is the only communication that has been received by the Department,' Maine’s corrections department said.

"The move by the Justice Department is the latest development in a monthlong battle between the Trump administration and Maine over the state’s refusal to ban transgender student-athletes from girls’ and women’s sports as ordered by the president."
