Davva
A Fellow Worker in #PAWA recently shared a couple of views about being a migrant worker on Certificate of Sponsorship (#CoS) in the UK. It is such an important analysis that I want to share here as an encouragement for any who have capacity to help give time and energy to the struggle PAWA is fighting.

"A CoS symbolizes opportunity and control. It grants access to new possibilities while binding individuals to sponsors, limiting autonomy. Beneath its empowering surface lies dependency, financial burdens, and restricted freedom. The certificate represents modern systemic bondage—a soft chain⛓️ granting conditional freedom which ain't no freedom, tethering individuals to predefined roles and power dynamics.

I feel secure with Unions but they only thrive on collective strength, where individual voices unite to demand justice and be heard. They are nothing without their members(voices in numbers)—the contributions, sacrifices, and solidarity of workers. While those in comfortable chairs resist change, as we are footsoldiers on the front lines we push for progress. Together, we should prove that unity transforms struggles into power and ensures no one fights alone yet we stare while some fight alone and the hyaena tears flesh and bones of a few who decide to stand up and fight for change."
#union
https://pawa.uk/
