Well folks, we've just been served notice by the state of Turkey that they will block access kolektiva.media if we do not remove content in support of Kurdish Autonomy in Rojava.
@subMedia
Luckily those clowns won't have any more luck grasping the federated nature of PeerTube than they have had wrapping their pea-brains around the Kurdish "separatist" campaign
@subMedia
Fuck Erdoğan and all his little theocratic, nationalist followers.
@subMedia Achievement unlocked.
@subMedia I hate living in the shithole that's Turkey :(
@WeLoveCastingSpellz @subMedia
Much love to you and all the non-shitty people living there. You deserve better.
No love to Erdogan and his supporters, they can go fuck themselves.
@subMedia Oh no, Turkey censoring everything again. I just hope the turkish users do have a way to bypass the blocks, other than that I would see getting banned by them as a compliment.
@subMedia My vote is to tell him to bring it on-and tell him we don't negotiate with terrorists and especially not the Daesh/ISIS variety of terrorists like him. Make my day, motherfucker...
If censorship of this and similar sites is his armor, Tor is our hypervelocity, fin stablized, tungsten core armor-piercing shell to blow right through it like so much aluminum foil. That's how thin most of the world's censorship is against toplevel countermeasures.
Not even China's Great Firewall can reliably stop Tor, and some of the amateurs (e.g T-Mobile in the US circa 2011) seem to think blocking clearnet access to https://www.torproject.org/
will stop it. Real world: ONE kid in a school with Torbrowser on a flash drive can equip every student in that school with Tor.
I advise that we refuse to comply, dare Erdogan to try to do anything about it, and ensure our comrades in Turkey have what they need to ensure he is electronically outgunned.
