Talked to a lady who works for the tax authority yesterday. Based on her job experience, her take on the welfare state is something like this:
"Of course there will always be freeloaders. So what?! This is about dignity. Everyone has a right to a good life and to be supported when they're struggling. If you want that, you've got to live with the freeloaders. Leave them be. That's the price you pay for a society where everyone is taken care of. It's not like they're doing any damage in the big picture - I've run those numbers more than once. You'll always get more out of it for society at large when you're incentivising good performance than when you're punishing people."

Gentle reminder; don't brag about your cool crimes (like doing graffiti) on here. It's not a secure place. That's how people get caught. In general, it's important to learn to be happy being a secret bad ass.

If you need help doing cool crimes, only tell one or two people you'd trust with your life. Make sure they won't tell anyone, even if they get arrested. The Weather Underground and the people who exposed CoIntelPro got away with it because they all kept quiet.

We used to know how to find stuff on the internet without search (back when search sucked). Then, Google came and made search good. The finding-it-for-ourselves muscles atrophied. Now, Google sucks, selling our results to the highest bidder and giving the rest to SEOs. It's time to learn to find the good stuff ourselves again.

I'm always on the look out for printable zines. Especially ones that don't expect an in depth knowledge of leftist politics. (They need to be generic enough that the odds of a random person wanting to pick it up while passing by are high)
They work really wonderfully as things I can easily put in the little free store I maintain when its getting a bit empty.

I'll add some in the replies that I've found already

I’ve had a long-arc story idea that’s too good to be suppressed, creative drought potentially over, writing later, excited,, :abunhdhop:

Crypto is crashing. Re-toot to make it crash faster.

A terabyte feels like a lot until you’re torrenting full seasons of shows and 1080p movie files to a 1 TB hard drive and you see how fast that stuff adds up

The attentive demands of my day job allow for the short distraction of social media use but not the investment of writing a thoughtful, longer form piece (whether fiction, political ramblings, etc)… accordingly, the first use of my time between the hours of 9 and 5 has risen while the second has plummeted. Not too happy about this.

I was bored and I remembered how bullshit 90% of "open-source" Codes of Conduct are

So I attempted to create a better one:

Anyways yeah y'all can use this if you want, or suggest things I've missed

Remember that in the UK, it's a criminal offence to be in possession of information likely to be useful to a terrorist if you know it's likely to be useful. Think about how information you already possess might be useful to a terrorist - now you're a criminal! until next time,
