🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏴🍉 Last night, queer and pro-Palestinian protesters celebrated Rad Pride for almost three hours in opposition to Fierté Montréal's co-opting of revolutionary queer ideals.

In attempting to disperse the protest by blocking the way and stealing banners, the SPVM instead created a highly volatile situation. The protest ping-pong'd from one end of the Village to the other, launching fireworks and shattering windows on Sainte-Catherine, at points entering and exiting the dense festival crowd to evade the police, and ending in a dance party in front of riot cops.

There is no pride in genocide. Our Pride is an intifada!

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏴🍉 Hier soir, des manifestants queer et pro-palestiniens ont célébré la Rad Pride pendant près de trois heures pour s'opposer à la cooptation par la Fierté des idéaux révolutionnaires queers.

En tentant de disperser la manifestation en bloquant le passage et en volant des bannières, le SPVM a plutôt créé une situation hautement volatile. La manifestation a fait du ping-pong d'un bout à l'autre du Village, lançant des feux d'artifice et brisant des vitrines sur Sainte-Catherine, entrant et sortant à certains moments de la foule dense du festival pour échapper à la police. Une party dansante devant l'anti-émeute a clôt la soirée.

Il n'y a pas de fierté dans le génocide. Notre fierté est une intifada !
