Sarah Connor is such a cool protagonist. I’m not sure if this movie has any feminist themes, but it’s cool to see a woman as an action hero in the very early 90s.

(In the 80’s Nicaragua had a socialist government. The US funded a rebel group called the Contras, a far right paramilitary with the goal of overthrowing the fairly popular socialist government and installing a Pinochet-style Hoppean government. Maaaaybe they were running guns to groups fighting the Contras? The film has clear anti-authoritarian themes, but I wouldn’t say it takes a position on either socialism or fascism.)
