You think that went away?
Acid rain is still happening. Just because the skies aren't choked with visible coal smoke like 19th century London does NOT mean they're anywhere close to clean. I don't know what fantasy propaganda you've been absorbing but it's completely false. Pollution is worse than ever, and always growing.

Global deaths from air pollution have risen steadily for at least the last three decades.

Minerals continue to be dug up to meet greater and greater demands of technology (including "green" transition), a process that destroys the environment and spreads pollution. These mineral deposits are getting harder and harder to find and larger and larger amounts of earth have to be dug up to produce ores, so each unit of ore results in larger and larger amounts of waste on top of the increasing number of units needed to meet demand.
It's a huge toxic spiral spreading pollution and destruction everywhere.

PFAS are accumulating in the environment, they're not going anywhere.

Mercury in fish, heavy metals in chocolate.

And let's not forget those fucking Starlink satellites. Our pollution has expanded into space now.

Vast gyres of a plastic trash swirling around our oceans. The hottest year on record, right after the last hottest year on record, because we’ve pumped so much CO2 into our atmosphere, but it’s not as immediately apparent as “acid rain” so he can pretend things are better somehow.

I remember summers in Los Angeles in the 60's when my lungs would burn after playing outside for a while. We had ozone alerts (this is unrelated to the ozone layer). The sky was brown. Yes, thankfully there have been significant improvements in specific and limited areas where the pollution was ridiculously out-of-control in a very immediate sense, like with mass quantities of untreated internal combustion engine emissions.
But as significant as that was, it was virtually nothing in terms of the big picture.
Capitalism, the religion of Capital, continues to transform the earth and all life on it into waste at ever increasing rates because that is what it necessarily does.

"Environmentalists have raised many concerns about Starlink including light-pollution of the night sky, a potentially hazardous traffic jam in low-Earth orbit, and even ozone depletion. Copycat megaconstellations by other companies and countries will only multiply these concerns.
Now there's a new reason to worry. According to a new study by Sierra Solter, megaconstellations could alter and weaken Earth's magnetic field."
