For years I've returned to #Firefox as my web browser; I generally dig #Mozilla and think it's important to support #Gecko. Recently, I must admit I fell in love with many features of #Vivaldi from their nifty little worker-run company, such as workspaces, but it still lacked Firefox's containers and other features. Now I've discovered #Floorp and I'm absolutely loving it: based on Firefox, has all the appealing aesthetics of Vivaldi and the workspaces, but also containers! It makes my Gecko-lovin' geek heart happy. #WebBrowser #WebBrowsers #browsers
@MediaActivist the problem with those forks is how quickly and often they get security updates. Fennic and LibreWolf can get away with it because their delay is usually only a few days because they basically apply the same script/patch to every version of Firefox so it can be largely automated, but for something more complicated...
@anarchopunk_girl Yeah it's always a balancing act eh. As much as I am critical of folks being too possessive of their "favourite things" over ethical options in this time of late stage capitalism, I guess we're all on that sliding scale. (Though some have bigger ramifications and moral implications, of course!)
