More Department of Education attacks on higher education. My question, is it about DEI or intellectual activity. I’ve been trying to think about anti-intellectual history in US and the primary sources which come to mind are Lost Cause propaganda and confidence schemes. No doubt these feed the likes of J.D. Vance, Russell Vought, Stephen Miller and their racist nurseries, but there are con men [sic] in both parties.

@odaraia Number 11 on #LawrenceBritt's #CharacteristicsOfFascism list.
"11. Disdain for #Intellectuals and the #Arts
#Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to #HigherEducation and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other #academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts."
