#Mainers! #ScarboroughLandTrust (SLT) is celebrating the month of March with a contest of its own: #MarshMadness!
"This new photo contest is designed to showcase the natural beauty and personal connections people have with the Scarborough Marsh and SLT’s nine preserves here in Scarborough. The contest invites participants to submit their favorite and most impactful photographs along with descriptions highlighting what makes their images meaningful.
All images must be original photos taken at Scarborough Marsh or at a Scarborough Land Trust preserve at any time of year:
- Wildlife Wonders: captivating shots of flora and fauna
- Natural Landscape: scenic views and vistas
- Living in Nature: people engaging in nature and the outdoors
Prizes will be gift certificates to popular Scarborough area businesses and the top overall photo will receive the Marsh Madness Grand Prize of $250 cash (generously underwritten by a donor).
Timeline
Feb 17 – Mar 16: photo entries will be accepted; photos may be loaded the photo contest page on SLT’s website throughout the submission period
Mar 17 – Apr 10: Marsh Madness photo album is posted on SLT’s Facebook feed for People’s Choice voting; votes are cast as photo likes/loves
April 11 – 15: People’s Choice votes are tallied and the photography panel selects Judge’s Choice winners
April 16 – 18: winners are notified and announced

I just submitted the two photos I posted here. I have a few more photos of #ScarboroughMarsh in my archives, so I might try and submit them. I think the "Red Berry" one has more of a chance of winning. But tbh, I just like sharing pictures of my favorite places!
